Wednesday - May 18

We have some exciting news to share……Ryan is headed to Washington, DC come January.    His new assignment will be in the Office of Legislative Affairs as a liaison with the Navy – 3 year commitment.   He is excited and plans to live on his boat.

Today we had a gamut of weather – 5:30 this morning, the heavens opened up and it poured.    The Waffle House was close by and Mark was ready for a fix so he ventured out with the umbrella and I chose to eat on Daisy and stay dry.    We left around 8:45 and drove thru heavy rain and then very thick fog – ugh!    We can’t believe the people who drive without their lights on????    But after that, the skies cleared and we enjoyed sunshine!
We arrived at Lake James at 2, got Daisy set up, packed the car with clothes for the next 8 days and off to Newton.    Grandpa and Brady went golfing (Grandpa drove the cart); Davis is at the Outer Banks this week with his 8th grade class; Drew, Blair, Brooke and I met the golfers and we all had dinner at Catawba Country Club.    Michael is away on business in Raleigh and will be a chaperone for Brady's 4th grade class trip tomorrow at the State Capitol and other legislative buildings.
Said good-bye to Brady as he's spending the night with a friend and then up early tomorrow for his trip.     Drew is also going on a class trip tomorrow and leaving early, so bye bye to him

Enjoyed these beautiful wildflowers along I-40 today...
