This Mama's buttons are popping after a very patriotic, full-of-pride day here in Traverse City.
Happy 4th to all and hope it's been full of the red/white and blue wherever you were and whatever you did to celebrate America's birthday!
We left Daisy around 9 and drove downtown, got a good parking spot and walked to CVS (6 blocks) for a few things - gorgeous again today! Stopped at Brew for coffee and just enjoyed the ambiance of this old building and fun place.
We met friends Pete and Sue (they lived just a few blocks away from us in Bloomington several years ago) - Michael and Anne babysat their boys......they later moved to the Chicago area and now live in Suttons Bay, MI. So fun to catch up with them......got our seats in the Blue Angel Family/Friends area and then Jerry and Maryhelen joined us! Wow.....what a day! Just the perfect 4th of July with our friends and the Blue Angel family, Huge crowds and a flawless performance by the 5 Blue and Gold jets.
Ryan flying over Traverse Bay......he was boating on this very same bay when he was 4 years old.
Maryhelen, Jerry, Mark, Pat, Sue, Pete
A bunch of the Blue Angel family
And later....thinking of and missing Jeff
After the show we went to Amical for an early dinner - WONDERFUL! Back to Daisy for quick showers, change of clothes and to the hotel where team is staying. Becca (wife of #1, Ryan), invited us to come to their suite for drinks. Just the 4 of us plus their adorable almost-2-year old Ben and what a good visit. We were so keyed up and giddy over this phenomenal weekend of the Blues back in the sky, the incredible hospitality of Traverse City and perfect weather!
Life is GOOD - thank you God!
We came back to Daisy, had a glass of wine on our patio but not planning to see the fireworks as they won't start till 10:30 (stays light up here soo late)!
So......on that note....good night, sweet dreams and...
God Bless America
