Sunday - July 10

We are winding down after our big 3-day weekend of air shows in Gary.    Lots of sunshine, long days, some great entertainment in the sky  and sooo many people make for a fun, but tiring weekend.

We went to 8:00 Mass at St. Matthias in Crown Point - sooo many beautiful bouquets of flowers in varying shades of pink made me wonder if they had a "pink" themed wedding yesterday?

We had breakfast in downtown Crown Point at Twelve Islands right across the street from the old courthouse/jail and where I sold my cross stitch many years ago AND where Johnny Dillinger escaped from jail in 1934.

Beautiful old courthouse

Arrived back at Marquette Park, got our seats and shortly after, Kevin and Dawn (we watched last year's show in Chicago on their boat) and their friend, Woody arrived!    So good to see them again.

Anne, Patrick and boys (haven't seen them since May 15th) came shortly after with their friends, Mike and Kim.    It was a great day and everyone enjoyed the other performers, the vendors and the Blues.    We heard they had a bigger crowd today than yesterday.

Several family/friends were not able to make it to one of the air show days due to health issues, kids ball games, work conflicts and car issues.   But sure appreciated all those who could make it.

Lt. Tyler Davies (#7 and Narrator) posed with 2 big fans after the show

We were on Daisy around 5:45 when the Blues flew over our RV park on their way home to Pensacola.

We got cleaned up, rested a bit and then went to The Lighthouse on Cedar Lake for a wonderful dinner....what a beautiful place - Mark had a corn-fed rib-eye and I had a macadamia-encrusted walleye - salads were excellent, too.

The coastguard ship below was center point on Friday and today for the show.    Yesterday, the waves were so crazy and lake extremely rough, the ship could not get out of the harbor (they used 2 inflatable dinghies for center point).    Center point is the reference the pilots use for all their maneuvers

Much calmer conditions today!

We just heard tonight that our nephew (and Godchild), Tom got engaged to Samm!    Very exciting and so happy for them.    They both live in Fairfax, VA.

Wishing you all a good night and great week ahead!
