Tuesday-Wedneday, July 5-6

Yesterday we were back "on the boat again";  today, we're back "on the road again".....here's our happenings for past 2 days!

Tuesday - pretty day and got back to the weight lifting and I did a short jaunt in the park     I got a manicure at Impres' - neat salon with Kristen who is a BIG Blue Angel fan and had been on their boat at center point for air show.    Mark and I drove thru the country and stopped in Leland Township at Pedaling Beans Coffeehouse - love these cute coffee places!

Arrived at Pete and Sue Stott's lovely home near Suttons Bay around 12:10.    After oohing and aahing over their home and view of Grand Traverse Bay, we took off for an afternoon on the water.   Stopped at Blue Lotus for some yummy chicken/cherry wraps and then to their boat "Vanilla" at Suttons Bay Marina.    Years ago we boated in this area and always enjoyed the downtown (population is only 625) but swells big time in the summer.

We enjoyed our lunch on a picnic table in the shade, boarded "Vanilla" and had a delightful afternoon on the water!    We anchored on Power Island (another memory from the late 90's).

Back to their home for fresh strawberry daiquiris, smoked whitefish, cheese and crackers.    Pete grilled white fish on cedar plank along with fresh delicious tomato slices w/bleu cheese and fresh broccoli topped off with cherry pie.    Nice visiting around the dining room table and finally time to head back to Daisy.    What a fun day with these good friends we don't see near often enough!

Wednesday - cloudy start to the day.   We left our beautiful RV park around 9:15 and on our way taking lots of happy memories of our time in northern Michigan .   What fun to be with family and friends for the past 10 days.    (Brother Bob and Linda, cousin Rita, the Jewett family, cousin Denny and family, Maryhelen and Jerry, Pete and Sue.)!

W sure packed in lots of fun with these folks, good shopping, eating (chicken cherry salad, pie alamode, and fresh cherries (sooo addictive) etc., etc., etc.)   and of course, enjoying the Blue Angels!

You just can't beat this wonderful weather and scenery....

Gorgeous view of Grand Traverse Bay from Maryhelen and Jerry's home

We stopped in South Haven at Sherman's (long-time favorite ice cream shop with over 50 homemade flavors to choose from).   It's a landmark that's been here since 1916 and oh-so-yummy.
This was lunch!!!

Few other pics to share from past few days....

At the start of each air show day, "Oh Canada" followed by our national anthem was played!

The Blues flew over Notre Dame today en route to Gary.    As we were truckin' along on I-65, they came up behind us!    Very cool!

The Blues over the University of Notre Dame

We arrived in Cedar Lake, IN around 3:00 - (nice to get that hour back now that we're in the central time zone).   We are at the Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park (a bible retreat).

We are near Crown Point, IN which brings back memories from years ago.    Linda (sister-in-law) and I sold our cross stitch  here in the old jail converted into a craft shop -
(very nice one, I might add)!

As we were coming into Cedar Lake, saw this gas station/convenience store....1st one of these we've ever come upon!

Made us smile!

Mark grilled Italian Sausages tonight!    We had gone for a walk earlier - nice residential neighborhood close by on the lake, but it is sultry out there!   Missing our extra hour of daylight that we enjoyed in northern Michigan.
