Sunday - July 1

Welcome July and it came on with a vengeance....we walked (about 5 blocks) to 8:30 Mass at St. Stephen's Church (it and St, Mary's in Medina are part of Holy Trinity Parish).

Back to the boat, changed clothes, and off we went around 9:50.    Another day of many bridges
(3 lift) and 2 locks.   Felt like celebrities as many people were out this hot Sunday afternoon watching all the lock activity, chatted, took pictures and waved to us

We are settled along the wall in Tonawanda and the end of  our Erie Canal travels for a few weeks.    Tomorrow we'll move Catrina to a marina and give her a rest.

As we were coming into town, our neighbors, Tab and Maureen from last night in Middleport waved at us to tie up in front of them.    They helped us come in and good to see them again and meet Ned, a tour guide with the historical society who was just getting ready to take them on a tour.    They asked us to join them, we quickly hooked up the power and got the AC on and off we went.    We walked along the canal, the Niagara River - oh my what a neat change of water color.    Pretty blue/green and so many boats out today along with jet skies, paddle boarders and oodles of kayakers.   We also went on a tour of the historic homes of North Tonawanda.   It was hot, but we hung in there for about a 2-hour tour and appreciate them waiting for us and asking them to joining them.

The Herschell Carrousel Museum Factory is located right here in Tonawanda - there were originally 5 buildings....here are some welcoming us along the water coming into Tonawanda!

After cooling down, drinking lots of water and showers, we walked to a brand new restaurant along the water that opened just last Tuesday.   Prescott Provisions is a wood-fired pizza spot and so many other things.    I had pizza, Mark had salmon.    Both were delicious and then we had their dark chocolate mousse with fresh berries which was another winner.    This is a very eclectic place with 2  garage doors that stay open and restaurant flows out to patio.    We wanted AC tonight but wasn't too bad sitting indoors; however, there were some tiny flies and little gnats, so....but we would go back again!
Introducing our MVP.....Connor received that title today and it's the end of the baseball season for he and Liam!
Congratulations to both boys on a great season!

Our 3 youngest grandchildren....9 days till we're together again!

We are 15 miles north of Buffalo and planning to get a rental car tomorrow and check out the area + head to Brewerton on Tuesday to get our truck!

Have a great week and stay COOL!
