Tuesday - July 3

We've had a long, but fun, interesting day.....left Catrina at 8 and drove the interstate (90) to 81.    Stopped for breakfast at Tim Horton's and arrived in Brewerton to get a few things off Flo, drive the truck (Mark) and me (rental car) back to Enterprise.    Good to be back in Ruby Red....

For the return back to Tonawanda, Mark thought we should take Highway 31 which would go along the Canal thru the little towns we passed or stopped at along the way.   Well, it was fun seeing the "other side" and some of the places we ate, rode bikes, etc.    Instead of driving thru Rochester, we took a northern route (scenic highway) that took us along the southern end of Lake Ontario - it was so pretty and we were straight south of you, Ron and Lois (and many miles across the water)!

We stopped in Weedsport for lunch at Devaney's (ate here as we were heading west on the boat).    I had the chipotle chicken quesadillas again.....they are incredible!!!    Mark had a huge BLT and today we sat inside where it was nice 'n cool instead of a few weeks ago when we were on the deck overlooking the canal.

Drove past lots of farmland, Amish country and thru Egypt and Greece (Rome was way back East)!   Ha...we do get around!!!!

Years ago my Dad and the farmers used to talk about "knee-high corn by the 4th of July" and then not that long ago, it way surpassed that.   But a far different story up here....it is very small and badly in need of rain.

Back into Tonawanda and Mark suggested we have a drink and light snack at Shores which is here on Tonawanda Island just down the road from Smith Brothers.    Good drinks and a shared plate of Bang Bang Shrimp hit the spot.    Allie....ranked right up there with Bonefish Grill!
