Saturday - August 13

A cloudy, cool Saturday, but my day started very early as the alarm went off at 4:35 and I jumped out of bed, got dressed and was off for my 5 AM manicure with Danielle at BeYOUtiful.    Is this crazy or what?    She is so busy and dedicated and goes above and beyond for her clients.    I think I mentioned a while back that she will even start as early as 4:00 AM.    But as always, she did a great job, we had a good visit at that early hour and I was on Catrina and crawled back into bed by 6:15.

Later we walked downtown to A la Cart for a hot 'n hearty breakfast.....decision time as to whether we go here or Coffee Express.   As we were walking past the coffee shop, the line was all the way out to the street, so that solved that dilemma very fast.    And when we came past again on our way home, still a long line!

Waiting by the street, up the steps, on the porch and thru the house - all wanting their coffee fix!

I wore long pants and a sweatshirt most of the day....but no complaints as we've been having beautiful weather for several days.   We took a little drive (2 hours) - wanted to check out the Twin Oast Brewery - wow, what a gorgeous place.    This is owned by Quentin Smith (also owner of Gideon Owen  Winery) and he opened the brewery in 2018.    It was a happening place!  Here are some pics...

Many areas to sit, sip and eat

An oast is a kiln for drying hops - these are the twin oasts (one for serving beer and the other pizza)
Other food choices, too

We drove to Lakeside (Chautauqua where Mark and Brenda stayed in Goldilocks) and passed many many lily pads - beautiful
 Lilies lilies everywhere!

I got a bubble (boba) tea and Mark enjoyed a hot fudge sundae!    On home to just relax, take a nap, read, etc.    So many people out and about despite the weather, they were heading to the ferry for some fun in the water, shop, eat and have a good ole time.

BLT's for supper!    Rain is predicted for tonight and tomorrow!

Philip. Annette, Luke and Maeve will be coming back to IL for the funeral of Annette's friend's son.....sooo very sad.
