Monday - July 12

Cloudy and humid start to our big planned day at Cedar Shores Water Park.....kiddos didn't rise 'n shine till 8:40 and after breakfast, we put on our swimsuits, water shoes, packed a bag of extra stuff and off to the shuttle.

We got to the park at 10:30 and wandered around checking it all out but park didn't actually open till 11.    The iffy weather probably kept the crowds down as it was not super busy.   Really impressed with this place and lifeguards are everywhere!   Big favorite was Breakwater Bay or wave pool.   Bummer when Blair was going down a water tube and flipped over cutting her upper lip with tooth, but after a short delay, she was good to go!    We checked out a few other rides and Grandma went on the Lazy River with B and L, but another unfortunate moment came when Grandpa reached out to give Grandma's tube a shove and his back started to tense up.    Oh no......finished our ride, Grandpa got some Advil and we had lunch.    Hearty appetites with chicken tenders, fries and slushies for the kiddos; cheeseburgers for G and G.

We did a little shopping and bought some souvenirs as the rain started.    We had our pics taken so we could possibly return, but they were ready to leave and it was only 2ish.   We walked a short jaunt to the shuttle as the rain came harder and harder.    Got back to Catrina and it rained hard for awhile.   Grandpa laid down and felt much better.    The kids decided they did not want to go back to the park, so Grandpa took shuttle back and picked up stuff we had put in locker - totally forgot when we left in the rain.     Lots of rain standing in the park.    While Grandpa was gone, the kiddos watched "YooHoo to the Rescue" and Grandma sorted thru blog pics.   So good to change into dry clothes, be warm and out of the rain.

This was our morning/early afternoon...

Measuring our heights and getting wristbands
and off we go....
Grandpa and Blair on a mission to see what's all here
with Luke and Grandma close behind
Waiting for the wave pool to open
Oh my....this is sooooooo much FUN!!!
A couple of Goobers
Just hangin' out on a log and raft after doing the lily pads
This was a lot of fun with huge bucket dumping gallons of water when it was full
Yummy lunch despite Blair's expression!
Leaving the park just before the heavy rain came

After a little lull from the rain with a tiny bit of sunshine, the rain came again at 4.   We played some rummikube (I beat Luke and then Blair beat me).    Blair prepared some snackables and Mark picked up some more appetizers from Famous Dave's to go with our leftovers.

The sun came out around 7 and it was a beautiful evening - the kiddos didn't have enough water time today (ha)  and so we went to the pool and they had it all to themselves.    Fun competition with each other for highest jumps, jumping the furthest, back floating, etc., etc. with Grandpa the judge.

So, it was a busy day and although our time at the water park was shortened cause of the rain, we all had fun and that's what it's all about!    Grandpa's back is still sore, but he's a trooper.     Darn darn as he's been doing so well!
Celebrating Cedar Point's 150th birthday!
More water fun in the evening
And a cuddle with Grandma

Tomorrow.....the amusement park!    Rain still in the forecast!
