Saturday - July 10

Beautiful day with sunshine and perfect 75 degree temp.    The kiddos slept in (Blair till 8 and Luke, 8:30).    After breakfast, 1st order of business was to sweep off Catrina as she was full of nasty spiders, mayflies and other tiny little bugs - what a mess.  And then we started getting our things stowed for our trip to Sandusky (about 2 hours).    We waited for the 11:00 drawbridge out of Port Clinton to open and then passed thru with 11 other boats.    Lots of boat traffic this busy Saturday on the water (big boats, small boats, pontoons, jet skiers, sailboats, and a big freighter unloading (or loading) on Catawba Island.)   The kids were troopers as the waves were a little rough from other boats' wakes.    Living on Lake James and very used to water activities, they did just fine but of course, can't compare Lake Erie to Lake James!

Passing Cedar Point and all the crazy people riding the roller coasters - we had a great view of them going upside down and also starting from the very top and then plunging straight down - NO thank you!
Hello from Sandusky

Glad to be here since today was the best day for travel - 100% chance of rain tomorrow with higher waves.   This Oasis Marina has a little cafe with all kinds of sandwiches, salads, snacks, drinks just steps away from Catrina along with a laundry and nice ship's store.     We enjoyed our lunch on Catrina and proud of Luke and Blair for trying and "enjoying" some of our fish - perch and cod (out of walleye).

Grandpa and the kiddos got me all set up with 3 loads of laundry and they were off to town.    Big disappointment after walking 4/10 of a mile to an ice cream shop only to find out it was no longer an ice cream shop.    UGH!!!    Back to the marina and found out they could get some ice cream right here at the snack shop (The Other Half) - ice cream sandwiches, drumsticks, ice cream cookies, etc.

And then they're off again...
To check out the lighthouse

I finished the laundry, Grandpa and Blair checked out the pool but finding it's only for seasonal boaters.   Luke and I joined them later and the kiddos enjoyed the playground.

Blair and I checked out the ship's store and did some retail therapy - they have some nice things.   Luke did facetime with his Mom and Maeve.   Blair talked to her parents last night.  A singer was setting up near the snack shop, so we were entertained this evening with so-so music?

Sure did our share of grazing today ending with dippin' dots which neither of the kids had ever eaten.   They shared a package of chocolate and as with everything else, thought they were delicious!

Wow....lookin' good there, Miss Maeve!

Blair did facetime with her family, Luke and Grandma played WAR and we just chilled tonight after another big day!

One year ago today, Connor broke his wrist - nicely healed and swinging that baseball bat and hockey stick with no problem!

Some downtime after showers/shampoos and then a major fit of giggles occurred!
Sure love these silly little folks!
