Tuesday - July 6

The big day has arrived and after a Starbucks fix (have one in our hotel) we were off to run some errands including a pick-up order at WalMart.    Had lunch at Applebees and then a short jaunt to the Buffalo airport (actually Cheektowaga, NY).    We tracked the flight from Charlotte with Daddy/Uncle Phil, Luke and Blair onboard and showed it was going to be early.    A nice guy at airport showed us where to wait (just before security - brand new area "meet 'n greet") - really nice and convenient.

Here they come...

Daddy/Uncle Phil handed them over to us and he was off to catch next flight back to Charlotte.    He said Buffalo food court was closed - arghhhh.   Airports are busier than ever but many food places are not open.   Probably lack of help!

They are all ours for the next 9 days!
Precious cargo

The unamious choice for lunch was McDonalds (surprise 😀) and it startd raining.   Came dow fast and furious just before we stopped for gas and kids and I went inside for their 1st Tim Horton's donut experience.   Blair decided she didn't want one; Luke sure enjoyed his.
Nothing like one of Tim's chocolate glazed donuts

The rain didn't last long and then we got all their stuff into our room and settled in while Grandpa snoozed a bit.    Later on, we had a flood advisory, but really didn't get much more.   Been awhile since we've stayed in a hotel.....there is no longer daily housekeeping (change linens, make beds, clean towels, empty wastebaskets, restock shampoo, body wash, etc,).    I guess if you're here for a longer period, they would?    Not sure....

These kiddos and their vocabulary......actually, technically, wonky....

After some fun in the pool/hot tub...

we had dinner at the Anchor Bar - home of the Buffalo Wings.
When we were here in 2018, we ate at the original location - really good!
Great potato salad and boneless wings with honey bourbon sauce
Playing charades tonight and these crazy kids got the giggles....

Tomorrow, Niagara Falls, here we come with lots of rain in the forecast
