Thursday - July 1

 Welcome July...

the month of celebrating America's birthday, picnics, family reunions, class reunions, baseball games, summer camps, swimming, boating, vacations, and on and on the fun goes...

We were off 1st thing with a ton of laundry - the Clean Scene was recommended a little bit out of town and Mark remembers being here in 2008?   I did not, but it is a nice one with varying size of loads for washing - 20#, 30#, 45 # and 65#.    Pay by credit card or EZ laundromat card.    While I was doing that, Mark ran some errands including a car wash and brought me back a hazelnut latte from Biggbe Coffee nearby.    What a guy!

Put the clean clothes away, and together we started carting extra things off the boat to Flo or truck to make more room for our little guests coming next week.    Mark washed Flo and I finished getting things organized in Catrina.   Mark picked up chicken salad and roast beef sandwiches from Coffee Express (1/2 of each left for tomorrow's lunch) - both were very good.    Mark worked on putting in some new LED lighting on Catrina in the afternoon.

Today was really pleasant - 77 and lower humidity.   But around 4:30 the clouds rolled in, it started thundering and had some light rain but most went south of us.

We got a nice clean Flo tucked away in building that is less than a year old and Dave kindly swept out before we came in.    We were able to leave Big Red hooked up to Flo!

Had a wonderful dinner at 1812 - #1 in Port Clinton per Trip Advisor on the outskirts of town and recommended by others....I had the Bay of Fundy salmon topped with a cranberry/orange sauce and jasmine rice.   Mark had the filet - everything was ***** from service by Peggy, to drinks, salad, bread....no room for dessert tonight!

Drove around a bit and went to Catawba Island where we got fuel a few days ago.   It is a beautiful event.

Tomorrow we are taking the Miller Express Ferry to Put In Bay and enjoy Gatlin who are performing from 6-9 PM.    Gatlin is the very popular husband/wife duo who we enjoy (and  are big fans of in Fort Myers.)   They are originally from Ohio and Put In Bay was their summer hangout in years past.    But now, they are doing more FL shows as that's where they've settled (Cape Coral).    They are doing a few OH shows and tomorrow night just happens to be one - I'm sure this place will be busy busy with the holiday weekend.     Mark's lady barber, Gina, told him about this as her in-laws spend the winters on Fort Myers Beach and she's been there several times.    Gina asked if he had ever seen "Gatlin" and that's how this all came about!
