Tuesday - August 8

What a nice refreshing day after an icky Monday with all the rain and wind!   We had breakfast (Annette's Mom sent some wonderful zucchini/pineapple and banana nut breads for us) - Mark and Philip went to Coffee Express and took care of our coffee fix.

Then we were off for a car trip showing them around Port Clinton, Lakeside-Marblehead and Catawba Island.    We stopped at the Miller Ferry in Marblehead so the kids could see the loading and unloading of all the vehicles and people.   Then to the lighthouse, but it didn't open till noon, so we didn't get to climb to the top.   Lunch at The Orchard Farmstand - so pleasant sitting outside and all enjoyed our lunches.   The kids (especially Maeve) enjoyed the chickens.    Walked around the Twin Oast Brewery and last stop was Great Lakes Popcorn Co. where Luke got popcorn and Maeve, some vanilla ice cream.   We took Luke home with us while Philip, Annette and Maeve walked home.

Played a game of LCR (left, center, right) with Grandma, the winner.  Grandpa took a nap on Flo, Annette did the same on Catrina and rest of us just relaxed.

The guys at Marblehead
Closed so no climbing to the top
All of us at the Marblehead Lighthouse

Then to lunch...
Annette's lavender margarita and my aperol spritz
Miss Maeve at Twin Oast
Grandpa and Luke at Twin Oast

Played 4-handed euchre with Annette and I beating the guys 2 of 3 games.   Then we were off to the Gideon Owen Winery.    I gave Philip and Annette a tour of the grounds....Grandpa and the kiddos stayed at our table.   Such a gorgeous evening.

We've been eating sooo much - shared a pizza and charcuterie board and Philip had a cup of lobster bisque.   All delish!    Back home and enjoyed our last evening together on Catrina with more games/cards

Gideon Owen - kiddos and huge lime hydrangeas

Connor has been in the CCHS golf tryouts the past 2 days.   He shot a 77 yesterday and today, 72.    He and his friends are looking forward to a fun fall on the golf course!
Proud of you, Connor and wishing you all the best!
