God Bless America!

So good to hear from several family and friends who are ok after Irma roared thru Florida yesterday with only minimal damage to their homes and property.   But others (their neighbors or friends) did not fare so well.

God is Good!!!!

We are getting a wee bit of Irma with chilly, rainy weather - squall-type winds are coming later and heavier rain.

We hunkered down indoors with the guys working on various projects (always something to install in a new house).    Annette took Luke to the dentist with Austin accompanying for moral support.
Luke did great and got a good report.

We enjoyed Bloody Mary's later this morning as Gina did laundry, the boys played with Legos and Sean and Tristen went for a long hike and saw 4 deer.    They are enjoying all this NC beauty and cooler temps.

We heard it was 92 in south FL today and big chunk of the state is without power.

Philip's homes had minimal damage - the one nearest the ocean is fine; the other one in Lake Worth lost 3 screens on lanai and no power.

Colton and Maeve are in the "garden" and Maeve is checking for mail!

Michael flew to Boston this afternoon and onto London on Wednesday.     Lots of flights cancelled at Charlotte with nothing going in and out of Florida + other southeast cities.

Seeing aerial coverage of the Keys is heartbreaking...Marathon was hit really hard.    So many fond memories from boating and RVing there.

Tonight 14 of us (Phiip and family, Sean and family, Ryan, Bob and Judy, Mark and I) went to Las Salas for delicious Mexican fare in Morganton.    Fun outing on a nasty night!

Over dinner and hearing the forecast for strong winds with possible gusts to 50 mph, Mark made the decision that we would move Daisy, Toad and truck to Michael's as not as many tall trees.    We sure don't want to get smacked by a tree and do damage to our "home".

Said our good byes to Sean, Gina and boys.    During dinner they heard that their power is back on in Lake Worth, so planning to head towards home tomorrow.    Sure have enjoyed their company.

I drove Toad, Ryan in the truck and Mark took Daisy and we are now in Michael's driveway as the rain keeps pounding down!

Till tomorrow....
