Saturday - September 9

Mark and Philip had all kinds of outdoor projects and Annette and I tidied up the house in preparation for the evacuees arriving....

In the afternoon, Grandpa and I stayed with the kiddies and Philip and Annette joined friends to watch the Iowa/Iowa State game.    BIG rivals and since Michael is a die-hard Hawkeye fan and the host-hostess went to Iowa State.....lots of excitement!    And then the game went into overtime, with Iowa winning!!!

I've been very grateful for several phone calls and texts from family and friends wondering about our whereabouts with Irma coming.    Really means a lot....as we continue to worry and pray.

So, the Florida evacuees arrived around 6......Sean, Gina, Tristen (16), Austin (8) and Colton (6).    I had met them shortly after Maeve was born.    Sean is a pilot with Philip at Spirit.

Michael, Brooke and kids came and we had a great evening of good fun, drinks and visiting.    Mark and I beat Brooke and Drew in euchre and then we enjoyed some pulled pork and wings with all the fixin's.   A big bonfire was another nice touch to this gorgeous Saturday evening.

Praying BIG time for Florida.....
