Tuesday - September 5

Very wet day here in NY....started last night and just kept on, would stop for a bit and then more and more.    We got the last of our stuff loaded in car between showers, Mark went to McDonalds and after pump out at Ess Kay, he left with Catrina and I went by car.    Catrina's home for the next 8 months will be at the Winter Harbor Marina about 1/2 mile away.

Winter Harbor - Catrina's winter home

Signs of fall...

We are taking so many memories of this past summer with us.....fun on the Chesapeake in Annapolis and then the Potomac with Ryan.    The amazing views from NYC to upstate NY will forever be etched in the ole brains......we so look forward to coming back next summer!    We were hoping to get together with Mark's cousin John and wife Cindy who live in Rochester.    John retired about 6 weeks ago and they are vacationing out west, so hope to catch them next year.

We were on I-81 several times while in Brewerton and today, hopped back on and it will take us all the way to Roanoke, VA - tomorrow's destination.

Had some rain off and on, I drove 1 hour and then radar showed what was coming....not pretty!

We stopped in Marathon, NY, a tiny little town with 4 restaurants - we chose #1 (Reilly's Café) a mixture of Irish and Yankee memorabilia.    Good lunch and on our way.

Stopped at 3:30 in Hazleton, PA and have more phenomenal views from our Hampton Inn room overlooking the Conyngham Valley.   Bummer it's such a dreary, hazy, wet day!

And now to worry about Irma and where she's headed?    So glad Philip, Annette, Luke and Maeve live in NC now.     They are renting out their FL home and Philip is down there working now and also preparing the house for Irma - NOT a welcome or friendly visitor!!!!!

Just seeing the pics of how many Floridians are emptying the grocery store shelves of water, bread, etc., is really scary, especially since all 67 counties are under this warning.

Hazleton is near interstates 80 and 81 and connected by a walkway to our Hampton Inn is
"Top of the 80's" a very nice restaurant with awesome views.   Unfortunately can't sit outside tonight but we enjoyed a wonderful dinner along a wall of windows....there was so much fog, thunder, lightning and wind, the views were not the best.    Beautiful country what we can see!    Rain is in the forecast for next 3 days!

While Mark and I were enjoying our dinner (flounder topped with crab for Mark and lobster-stuffed scallops for me), we talked about all the family/friends we know who live in Florida.     Such a scary time and keeping them in our prayers...and thinking of all the folks on the islands where Irma is headed now.
