Monday - October 2

Woke up this morning to a text message from our friends Paul and Kathy who are vacationing in Venice, Italy.    Kathy told us about the horrific tragedy in Las Vegas.......and so the day began on a very sad, unbelievable note.

After watching the TV and reading latest on the internet, I walked around the park and Mark did his weight lifting.    We had breakfast and left the campground at 9:15.     Sunny day and short drive to Springfield where we got Daisy some new batteries.

Arrived in Branson around 1:45 - quite the place with so many musical attractions, restaurants and every other form of entertainment imaginable!     All along the interstate, the billboards are advertising "thee best show" and on and on....

Settled Daisy for the next 2 nights at the Musicland Kampground and then went for a walk - HOT and 91 degrees.    We had to drive to the Branson Travel Office to get our tickets for tonight's show, so did that and then drove around and bought tickets for tomorrow afternoon's show at the Sight and Sound Theater.   Stopped at Tequila's for late afternoon drinks, chips and salsa.   Saw several flags at half mast at our president's request.

Never having been to Branson before, we were surprised how hilly this area is.    In fact, our campground is SIX different levels.    We are on the 3rd street with 2 more above us and 3 streets below us.

Back to Daisy and watched all the sad news.

Tonight we walked across the street to the Clay Cooper Theater and thoroughly enjoyed a musical of 50/60's music.    It was extremely entertaining and so good to hear all these oldies performed so well by 6 terrific entertainers.   They did a great tribute to all Veterans and so much more.
One of the gals is from Peoria, IL.

Left the theater feeling happy and nostalgic  - if you are planning a trip to Branson in the near future, definitely put this on your list.    This particular show is in its 15th year.

Many prayers tonight for the Mandalay Bay victims, all those who were hurt and their families.
