Sunday - October 1

A beautiful start to October.....we left chilly Kamp Komfort at 7:30 this morning and soon were "back on the road again".

We stopped in Elkhart for 8:30 Mass and then down the road, stopped at Williamsville for breakfast at the Huddle House.    We don't think we've ever been to one of these but very similar to Waffle House.    Good food and very busy.    While we were waiting for our breakfasts, a man came in with "Henry".     This ventriloquist and Henry were talking to all the children and we were amazed how good he was.     They were on their way to Madison, WI and then Menominee, WI to speak at schools.    No idea what they talked about, but "Henry" was very entertaining and supposedly, out in the car were Henry's parents, 2-year old brother and a gorilla with a tail.     I would loved to see all these characters.    Quite out of the ordinary for sure!!!

After chatting with other diners,   Henry and his buddy went out the door and were on their merry way - they did not eat!

It was a perfect day for traveling but the farther south, the warmer it became.    We arrived in Phillipsburg, MO shortly after 3 and quickly changed into shorts and t-shirts.

We are at the Happy Trails Campground - pretty spot along I-44 with lots of trees and Mockingbird Lake.    We walked around the lake and felt good to stretch the legs after sitting most of the day!

So yesterday, Connor was playing baseball in the state championship games....
today, he served mass with his brother and then look at this monstrous catch right behind his house at Old Farm Lakes!

Tomorrow, back to school and hockey season starts!    These boys are always "on the go" and hats off to Anne and Patrick for keeping up with it all!!!

What a catch!!!

Tomorrow we are off to Branson - 1st time visit for us!
