HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DAISY
11 years young

October 10, 2006 we picked Daisy up in Montclair, CA.....
what fun adventures she has provided us with!!!

It was 21 degrees this morning when Mark got up and this is how Toad looked...
All ice/snow covered

Beautiful views when we left the campground at 8:45

Off to Santa Fe (175 miles) and what a pretty day with those deep blue, cloudless skies and clear, dry roads!

We stopped in Las Vegas, NM for a little break and had a yummy late breakfast at "Charlie's Spic 'n Span Bakery and Café".   Busy place and excellent!

We arrived at the KOA Campground in rural Santa Fe (12 miles to the north).    Got the birthday girl settled and then took Toad into Santa Fe.    What a beautiful city so full of shops, art galleries, jewelry and on and on.    LOTS of people out strolling this lovely day.

We walked around the historic area and went into the Loretto Chapel which is known for its winding staircase that supposedly has no means of support.    This beautiful church is now used for weddings and they have around 300 per year.

We have very slow internet here tonight and having trouble downloading pics, so....maybe more tomorrow night?

I strolled around the streets and Mark got a haircut.    We met for a late lunch/early supper at
Santa Fe Bites which Michael recommended for their green chili cheeseburgers!    Very good!!!

It was a delightful afternoon in Santa Fe.....

Just heartbreaking to see the "before" and "after" pics from wine country.    Sooo sad...
