Thursday - August 1

Sunny and warm - great start to August!    We had breakfast (pancakes and sausage) and then moved Catrina to the gas dock for a pump out.    We are in a different slip now as the guys are working on the compounding and waxing, so didn't want to get on other boats.

I ran a few errands (picked up a heating pad for Mark) and got a haircut.    Love these upstate NY prices for haircuts.    Mark went last week - $10......mine today was $24.   Really like Jennifer and she's so fun to visit with.    New place just opened near us - The Brick House_ serving lunch Wed-Sat and breakfast on Saturdays - lots of homemade bakery goodies, too,   We will have to try.

It's 2 weeks today that Mark had his incident on "Jack Dempsey"......back is still hurting and I cannot believe why the ER doctor said he would be pain free in 2 weeks!!!!    Reading online, these T12 fractures take more like 3 months to heal.     Hot showers feel good, so ready to try the heating pad and see how that goes.    Still hearing that occasional "ouch" word too often.

So....Mark took a little nap and used the heating pad this afternoon but it was not good - muscles really tightened up, so....

After walking around a bit, he felt better.....wanted to go out for dinner.   Mexican was his choice, but since it was such a beautiful evening, he said "let's eat outside" and so Waterfront Tavern got our business and so pleasant sitting by the water - packed place and great food (walleye for Mark and coconut shrimp salad for me with Granny Apple dressing).    When Beth, our waitress, brought our check, she explained their new computer system - if you pay by credit card, there is an additional 3.45% tacked onto your bill.   WHAT?    We paid cash and wonder if that's something new coming???

Visited with George, Jane and Seward....
