Thursday - August 8

A gorgeous start to the day - sunny skies, warm temps and nice breeze.....that lasted all morning till the rain came around 3.    Lots of water standing here and there.

I gt a manicure this morning and left Mark to do (what he loves) all the logistic planning for the next month.    The Captain has decided it's time to get back to the cruising, so.....tomorrow we are leaving EssKay and Brewerton and doing some boating for the next 3 weeks.    Hopefully, Mark will do fine (if not, we know we have a "home" to come back here to.    Otherwise, we have 3 weeks to see some favorite areas of ours, plus explore new places in the USA and Canada.

We got some groceries at Wegman's late morning so boat is now provisioned and after unloading and putting away, we went to the Brick House Cafe for lunch.    This place is close to the marina and we've been past it a zillion times.   Jennifer who cuts my hair said it would be reopening (was open a few years ago and then closed as Ginny (owner) opened a much larger restaurant for breakfast and lunch at Driver's Village.)    She also does a lot of catering.    But it opened about 10 days ago (Wed-Sat) and breakfast also on Saturdays.

It's a lovely old 2-story brick house and everything sounded so good on the menu.    We were not disappointed with Ginny waiting on us and everything delicious!   She specializes in bakery goodies and so, we brought back some of her cookies (including shortbread with raspberry jam), a cinnamon roll and cranberry scone (breakfast tomorrow).    Thought of my girlfriends and how much they would enjoy this place!

Spent the afternoon as the rain came down alternating with reading and doing the photo book.    Around 4:30 we went for a walk, but it had cooled down to 66.    More rain is in the forecast and then several days of sunshine and 70's.

Catrina has been tucked in between 2 big yachts - one from Delaware (70' - "TuTu Much") and the other from California (58' "Miss Darlin II").

Davis started his senior year today at University Christian High School.....gosh, these kiddos are growing up much too fast.    Rest of them will be going back to "readin', writin' and 'rithmetic" very soon!
