Monday - June 1

Finished getting Flo and Big Red ready for take-off with final check list and stowing any loose items.    We borrowed Michael's truck and went into Morganton for my 10:15 appt. with Dr. Brazinski and follow-up on shoulder.    Since there's been no change since I last saw him (17 days ago), discontinue the anti-inflammatory drug but continue with the exercises and keep shoulder loose.    At some point maybe they can do a CT scan (no MRI cause of hardware from surgery) to see if rotator cuff is affected.    For now, I will do exercises and as Dr. said "Go, enjoy your summer vacation."   We'll see how things are by end of summer and then maybe make appt. with orthopedic dr. in Fort Myers for this fall.

Back home, said our good byes to Michael's family (hugs, too) and Ryan arrived and we were off.  We stopped at Drew's Diner and picked up cheeseburgers, fries and iced teas.  He has a late night flight from Knoxville to Memphis on FedEx, so this worked perfect that we could ride together and save him from having to get a rental car.    Unfortunately our 3 1/2 hour trip took 5 hours due to construction (mainly west of Asheville).   Dropped Ryan off at his hotel and then another 15 miles to the Clinton/Knoxville North KOA Campground in Clinton, TN..     Really appreciated Ryan doing most of the driving.

It was a nice sunny, warm day for traveling and really good to be on our away.    Exactly 10 weeks ago today (March 23rd - also the day Gibson was born) we arrived at Lake James.

As Mark said, "this is the longest we've stayed anywhere (other than Fort Myers) but what a special place it is!!!!     So thankful and blessed to have this bit of paradise to isolate in.

As we were traveling today, I was getting so many texts from friends in Bloomington and Chicago area about the awful violence going on and what could happen tonight in respective areas.   Unbelievable and so sad that's it all come to this in such a horrific way.    Big cities are usual targets for demonstrations, protests, riots, etc. but now little ole Bloomington was hit last night with several stores being looted, fires, etc.   UGH!!!!!!     Praying for our country tonight and an end to this vicious violence!

I walked around the park - felt good to stretch the legs, but it is HOT out there.....and then Mark and I walked at 7:30 - much more pleasant temp.

Tomorrow our destination is:   Georgetown, KY.
