Thursday - June 4

We left our spot at 7:10 this morning and were off in Big Red driving thru the country to Port Clinton (about 2 hours northeast of Jackson Center)   Before leaving town, we stopped at Casey's and got some donuts-to-go (they are so good and each individually packaged).    Been a long time since we had a donut and we nomads love our donuts!

Mark was on the hunt for indoor heated boat storage for the 2021-22 sseason.    "Hopefully" next summer we can resume our cruising on Lake Ontario and then  onto Lake Erie and store at the end of the season.      We were last here in August of 2008 on Catrina (Sail) and remember (Mark better than me) the Coffee Express (little blue house that had great coffee, pastries, lunch, etc.)     We got coffees (very well organized with their social distancing and only outdoor seating with masks for staff and most of the customers.    Took our coffees and walked around downtown, saw boats in the water (a good sign) as that has not been the case everywhere.   Water levels are still very high here and still seeing plenty of sandbags.   W walked past a nail/hair salon (Beyouthful)  and I made a quick call to see if I could get a manicure - yes, come on in after asking me several questions.   We wore masks and only one other lady in salon.   Such a treat to get my nails done as last time was mid March.

While I was getting my mani, Mark checked out winter storage - closed, but nice big building and Dennis later called and said they could take care of us (winter of 21-22).

We drove around Port Clinton a little and then headed back towards Jackson Center stopping for lunch at a very nice service plaza which was not busy, tables well spaced apart and very clean.

Arrived in our spot around 2ish - rolled down the windows and opened sunroof and read and napped.    Then decided it was time for ice cream so back to Casey's (not many choices in this town) and got cookie ice cream sandwiches.    At 4:15, they brought Flo back and we are now enjoying our beverages in the AC.    We know some things were fixed but not all and they "hoped" to finish in 2 days.    So, tomorrow, we'll be outta here early again.

We would love to tour the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.  (that was an attraction on our "to do" list when we were supposed to be on Catrina this summer).    They were to have their 2020 induction of new members (among them were Whitney Houston, The Doobie Brothers, etc.) on May 2, but that was cancelled and rescheduled for November 7th.    And of course, the museum is closed, so.....would've been a neat day trip from here, but not meant to be for now.

Luke called and we had a good chat!    We had a nice rain overnight but nothing today - forecast has really been off lately - in NC, too.

Went for a walk downtown after supper - not much happening.     Nice evening!

"Split Decision" where we had lunch yesterday on the porch!

Liam and his driver's permit - starts driver's training next Monday (2x a week for 3 weeks)
