Happy Flag Day!

After some overnight rain, it turned out to be a beautiful day for traveling and shortly before 8 am, we were leaving Kamp Komfort heading north.    Stopped in Mendota and had breakfast with Bob and Linda at Ziggy's.    They have a tent and picnic tables, we sat in part shade/part sun and enjoyed wonderful omelets, potatoes and toast.    Good to be together and catch up as we had not seen them since February in Florida.    We brought them pie from Busy Corner and they gave us monster cookies so a yummy trade for all.

Back on the road and watched (me) and listened (both of us) on I-pad to Mass with Bishop Reed from Boston.

As we were traveling north on I-39, we stopped at a rest stop near Westfield, WI.   It was huge with the usual (one area for cars and the other for trucks, RV's, etc.)     We drove into the truck area and absolutely no one there?    Sure never saw that before and for a few minutes we did have the entire lot to ourselves.    2 trucks came in later.....strange!

Flo was parked about midway so this is only 1/2 of parking lot - all empty!!!

When we got out of truck to walk around a bit, wow....chilly and very breezy.    Although the thermometer said 71, it did NOT feel like 71 and saw that the humidity was only 29%.

We are in Hancock, WI at the Oasis Campground.    This is a very pretty place with lots of trees, paved roads, big water park (a few brave souls in the water).    We plan to stay here 2 nights and explore the area - the town of Hancock has a population of  417, so.....probably not a lot to explore, however, just staying here in park and walking or riding bikes is a great option and definitely need to get back exercising.
Silly sweet NC grandkiddos

Liam, Connor and friends camping last night

So tonight's low is to be 44....burrr....guess we're in north country now and will feel the chilly temps.    But also going to warm up later in the week, so....we'll take whatever!     Our neighbors are gathered around their bonfire with hooded sweatshirts and blankets roasting marshmallows!    Nothing like a good ole campfire especially with a nip in the air!

Put our jackets on and did a short walk then Zoom with 9 of Mark's siblings.   Always fun to catch up on everyone's news and have some good laughs.

Have a good week ahead - stay safe and healthy!!!
