October 13

Cooler today and looks like rain - after a yummy breakfast prepared by Helen, we said our good-byes and look forward to getting together again this winter in Florida.

Bye bye

Back on the road again and more fall beauty all along the way and the sun is shining!!!   We got Daisy settled beside Silver Lake in Traverse City and then took Toad to Glen Arbor, Leland and Suttons Bay.
Silver Lake in Traverse City
Leland is an old fishing town and a favorite from many times when we stopped here while boating - this picture was taken from The Cove (another favorite) where we had lunch.

We shopped downtown Traverse City and also the Traverse City Commons which housed the Michigan State Hospital for 97 years before closing in 1989.   After sitting empty for many years, it has been renovated into shops, restaurants, bakery, and other businesses along with upscale condos.  A big part of it   is still in the remodeling phase, but what a great concept to take this old building (which is huge and rambles on and on) and make something really special and unique!
Enjoyed a scoop of cinnamon/pumpkin crisp ice cream!
