October 4

Pretty fall day...had breakfast with the Monday morning friends; home to do some more cleaning in bedrooms and then met my sisters-in-law, Linda and Vicki for lunch at Destihl and shopping at Chico's and Coldwater Creek.   As you can see, we did a bit of damage...but sure had fun!

Came home from shopping and Mark and I hopped on our bikes for a nice long ride around Evergreen Cemetery, downtown and west of town.   On our way back home, my chain came undone (always have to be pedaling when changing gears) which I was sure I had done (have NOT done that in the past), and Mark was not able to get back on track, so....he rode his bike home, got the truck and came to rescue me and the bike.  We took the bike to where we bought it and something is bent?   We'll get the diagnosis tomorrow....bummer!!!  Hope it doesn't take too long to repair as this week is sounding like great biking weather.

Our neighbor told us that he got a $125 ticket for talking on his cell phone while driving in a school zone!   Yikes.....did not know that rule.   Effective January 1, IL rules are no cell phone usage in construction (did know that) or school zones!   So....there you have it - beware!!!

Monday Night Friends (small group of just 4) met at the Sugar Grove Nature Center (favorite spot for our grandsons) and Nadine who is a volunteer there, gave us a tour and then we went inside and had our supper (lunch leftovers for me) and sat and chatted.   Sooooo QUIET and DARK in the country!
