Wednesday - September 5

HOT today - 93 but relief coming soon!     We exercised and got our stuff together (time to relearn all the ins and outs of traveling with Flo) and were on our way by 10ish.    A short trip (81 miles) to Alexandria Bay (1000 Islands) and our site at Swan Bay RV Resort and Marina which overlooks the St. Lawrence River.   It is a very nice park and we plan to stay 2 nights.

After lunch we took off for Wellesley Island a residential community of lovely old homes and a popular summer vacation spot.

Then to downtown Alexandria Bay (3 miles) and checked out some shops (some are closed or have limited weekend hours - apparently they didn't know I was coming)?    Ha...This is big tourist area in the fall, too, but during the week it is pretty quiet.    We drove up here from Brewerton in June.  Today, had ice cream at Lil' River Falls and then drove onto Clayton where we were with Catrina just a few weeks ago.    It was so hot just walking around, so didn't stay too long.

Sure is nice to be back on the 1000 Islands - an absolutely beautiful part of our good ole USA

We decided to head north today as along our route east was going to be a big car show and the campground we wanted to stay at (Lake St. George) was pretty full.    We'll hit that another time.

Supposed to be only 75 tomorrow so, looking forward to some cooler temps.

Walked around the park and then parked our bods on a nice glider overlooking the water - so peaceful and a tad cooler.    Met a nice couple from Tallahassee and then another couple from Rochester.

Zinnias are one of my favorite summer garden flowers
