Friday - August 16

Another pretty day and after exercising and enjoying breakfast on the bridge (Mark fixed pancakes and sausage), we were off......short time later a distress call came across the VHF radio - a man in his boat reported that a person had just jumped from the Bay bridge.   Oh my...........the coast guard was called, lots of questions asked and probably 20 minutes later, the body had been recovered by the DNR.   How horrible for that boater to witness that.    Yesterday a 35-year old female jumped to her death from the 4th floor of State Farm's Atrium.    Two very tragic stories.

We arrived at the MRYC (Miles River Yacht Center) at 12:10.    After lunch we rode our bikes into St. Michaels (1.4 miles) and enjoyed a few hours of leisurely strolling (Mark got an ice cream cone). This is a favorite town of ours on the Eastern Shore and we plan to be back next week!

Rest of the afternoon we read, did computer stuff and at 5:00, Don and Ann arrived.   Don and Mark worked together many years ago.  We had drinks on Catrina's bridge and then a delicious dinner at the yacht club!    Back to the boat for more visiting   It was a delightful evening!
