Friday - August 27

Another hot 'n steamy day.....Mark was off to run several errands and stopped at McDonalds.    The sign on the door said "Now hiring at $14/hr with a $200 signing bonus + $200 to the employee who recommended you + $2500 off your college tuition!"    Wow....now McDonalds has really upgraded the incentives to get people back to work.   It is crazy crazy!!!!!

So, while Mark was gone I washed Catrina and dealt with a bunch of nasty spiders .    Last night when we were sitting under the tent with Steve and Ruth, a guy came to the marina and had a long handled gizmo and went around swatting at these nasty bugs.   Then he sprayed all over.....but they were back big time again this morning!    Two big topics these days - the heat and the spiders!!!

A young couple arrived here at Superior a few days ago -  Tom and Michaela are from Cleveland and have some neat fold-up electric bikes that we are thinking about getting?    These are light weight and the fact that they fold up is an extra bonus.   We shall see.    Anyway, these "youngsters" came to Fort Clinton for the 2 big concerts the past 2 nights at Put In Bay (Blake Shelton on Wednesday and Keith Urban last night).    They rode their bikes to the ferry which took them to Put In Bay, rode their bikes to the airport and along with over 15,000 fans enjoyed the 2 concerts, but it was so HOT and everyone had to stand.     Great entertainment, but.....

Mark picked up his new dinghy engine so he's happy!!!   We went for a "short" ride - too hot!

Mark's new toy!

We've been praying all day for the safe return of Michelle's (Jim and Lydia's daughter-in-law) Dad who disappeared yesterday from his home in a suburb of St. Louis.    He is 80, has dementia and other health issues.    Thankfully he was found this afternoon in Arkansas and is ok.    Scary...scary....

Played some euchre this afternoon with Mark winning both games.   We went to the Island House for dinner - so nice 'n cool and great dinners (ribs for Mark and perch for me)!

Our NC Littles and their classmates (11 in each class)!
