Thursday - September 2

Another spectacular day in north central Ohio - the walleye fishing capital of the world!!!   We are so blessed with this great weather when so much of the country are dealing with massive clean-up from Ida resulting in major tornado damage, flooding, etc.  Plus all the wildfires with no end in sight.

Mark went to Coffee Express and I made sausage/cheese omelets and English muffins.    We batted away at the spiders and did some quick "spot" cleaning on Catrina's deck.    Of course, those nasty bugs are a daily thing, so....back at it tomorrow, the day after, and on and on...

Mark was having 2 issues with the bed cover in Big Red....contacted the company and they would gladly replace it instead of offering fix-it ideas or sending parts.    We just got it in January!  That was fine with us and on the 24th, a new cover was shipped from MO to here at Superior via FedEx.    Mark is still patiently (and not very patiently) waiting and in trying to track, at times it appears to be lost.    Finally able to talk to a FedEx rep yesterday and they are to get back to him within 24 hrs?    She did say that Ohio was having an overflow and back-up of packages (probably from lack of help)?    So, we shall wait and see.   We are leaving next Tuesday, so time is running out....(last resort, we'll have to confer with our FedEx family employee!  😀    But this is coming by truck and he flies the packages, so....

Still trying to hit some of our favorite spots to eat......the Dock's Beach House is always busy and we've never been able to get a table (just sit at the bar).   They have lots of outside seating but of course, the tables aren't always full.............back on my bandwagon today about this lack of help!    Their sign said "Due to a worldwide staff shortage, we are going to be closed Wednesdays effective August 10th.    Please be kind to those who do show up for work"!

So then onto Coffee Express - great salads/sandwiches here.    Their sign at the counter said "Due to staffing shortage, please have PATIENCE.    Thank you for UNDERSTANDING!    So, no matter how you word it, there has not been any improvement in the work force?   Why?    Is the government still paying people NOT to work?     Enough on that subject.

We enjoyed our lunch sitting in the sunshine this gorgeous day and then back to Flo.

Our neighbor, Dick at Cypress Trail has been traveling across the country from MA and tonight he's at Kamp Komfort    He posted on his blog and then Mark called him this afternoon.    He's had so many adventures (many not so good) with his faithful travel buddy, Rusty.    We suggested he check out Busy Corner tonight for a good dinner and pie!    He'll get to Fort Myers about a week before us.

Mark won 2 of 3 games of euchre.   Tonight we had drinks under the tent with Bob (owner of a beautiful Fleming).    He lives near Columbus and came up to work on his boat today and tomorrow.    So fun to catch up and share about our families (he and Donna have 3 children and 9 grands).    They own a family painting business (exterior and interior) and have 40 employees.    Great guy!
