Father's Day - 2024

Wishing this guy a very happy day
Thee best Dad, Grandpa, role model, mentor and
"Captain of my Ship"

Happy Father's Day to all the great dads out there.....especially thinking of Mark's and my Dads.    And thanking Michael and Philip for giving us Drew, Davis, Brady, Blair, Luke and Maeve.  And to Patrick for the gifts of Liam and Connor.

We left the boat at 7:45 AM and walked 1.5 miles to Balzac Coffee Roasters - I was at the Niagara-on-the-Lake shop a few days ago and today found out there are 16 locations across Canada.   Then we were off to Star of the Sea for 9:00 Mass with Father Richard Kowalchuk who gave a wonderful homily.    Back to the boat - another spectacular day - sunny and 69.

Back on Catrina,  we shared the last "fluffy" (gosh, these were sooo good) and stowed our stuff, undid the power cord, untied the lines and we were off - a perfect day on the water and Lake Ontario was a gorgeous bluish/green color.    15 miles later we arrived in Grimsby, ON at Foran's Marine and had 3 fellow boaters welcome us and help with our lines.

JJ's on the Docks Eatery was very close by and #3 on Trip Advisor so we sat outside with many other diners and enjoyed a great meal (Reuben with onion rings for me and  the "stuffed Yorkie" - beef/mushrooms/caramelized onions in yorkshire pudding for Mark) - all delicious!   Back to the boat with 1/2 my sandwich (may be the best Reuben ever)!!!    Mark got his bike off the boat and left for Canadian Tire (1.3 miles) to get a new windshield wiper blade.   I'm just not ready to ride my bike yet.....

Here are some pretty sites along the way to church...

Mini daisies
Charming homes with pretty flowers

A bunch of rowers were out practicing as the national rowing championship will be held here in St. Catharine's in August.

Our weather has been off the charts - perfect in the upper 60s and so fresh while a big part of the country is sooo HOT!   Much warmer temps are coming our way this week.

When we were at JJ's for lunch, they advertised their coconut cream pie as thee best.....so tonight, Mark walked down there to get a slice-to-go.    It was very good and we both agreed it ranks right up there with Mackinaw Tea Room and Busy Corner's coconut cream!!

Excellent!

Nine on zoom tonight - summer travels, long times to wait to get a dr. appt, new update on baby Mason from Grandma Sharon, the severe heat coming this week, how our trip is going, etc.

Enjoy your week and stay COOL!!!
