Friday - May 27

We were up early and off to Hardees (Mark for biscuits and gravy) and JJ Java House (me for latte and cinnamon coffee cake).

Cute sign at the coffee shop

Back to Flo and we were on our way to Port Clinton arriving around 3 hours later.   It was cool and cloudy till we got into Ohio and then  sunshine in the low 70's.    The guys at the marina thanked us for bringing nice weather as it's been cool and rainy here, too.    We sure didn't bring any good stuff from IL.....ha!

Catrina looks great - new bottom paint, washed and waxed and new bimini!

She is ready to go...

She was launched around 11:45 and I went to Coffee Express (our cute little blue house and favorite coffee/breakfast/lunch spot just a few blocks away).   Mark and I shared a yummy sandwich and some veggies.    Catrina and Flo are parked alongside of each other so next few days we'll be transferring our stuff and giving Flo a good scrubbing before she goes indoors for the summer.

Superior Marine has only 27 slips and last season, was pretty much empty as they waited so long to get the pedestals (electrical and water hook-up) installed.    But now there are several boats here and Dave, dockmaster, said it will be full this year!   WOW.....

So thankful that Mark's sister Janet had successful spine surgery this morning in Rockford, IL.    Janet has been hurting so with severe back and sciatica pain for several weeks now.    She just retired from a long and illustrious teaching career (high school math) at Hononegah High School in Rockton.    We wish Janet a quick, fully healed recovery and long, happy, healthy retirement.    Amazingly, Janet came home this afternoon and resting pain FREE!!!

Mark worked away on Catrina (happy to be back on his boat).    Tomorrow, we'll really make some waves, but I even took a little nap!   Ha....the rain started around 4 (much earlier than predicted), but we were warm, cozy and dry in Flo.

Yesterday when we were out walking around the Wal-Mart parking lot in Normal (where Mark had parked Flo and Big Red) and we were waiting for our appts., (PT and mani/pedi), we noticed that there are 33 pick-up parking spaces at Wal-Mart North.   Wow.....that service is still going strong.   Such a great thing during the pandemic but in all the Wal-Marts we've been at for pick-up, never saw this many pick-up spots!

Catrina is happy to be floating again...

Have a safe and fun holiday weekend!
