Monday - May 23

Beautiful sunny day with a high of 70.  We were off to town at 8:30 (Mark driving Big Red and me in my car).    Went to Shannon's for breakfast with the Monday morning bunch - last time for us to be with them till September - all 9 of us were together - fun time as always.

Afterwards Mark filled up Big Red with some diesel, he left in the car for therapy and I took Big Red and visited Donna Rae at Westminster Village (she's living at Martin Health Nursing Home for rehab).    I was so happy to see her as they've been on lockdown and after having covid, she has been so weak and tired.    We had a great 1/2 hour visit and then time for her OT (she had PT earlier this morning).   Hope Mark and I can stop in to see her before we leave Thursday.

Sweet Donna Rae

I came on back to KK and sorted laundry for tomorrow; did some computer stuff, read, walked and just hung out.   After his therapy, he had a 1:00 appt. at Heller in Pontiac to hopefully get the windshield wiper fluid thingy fixed???    They said it would take about 2 hours, so instead of getting a loaner car, he decided to just sit and wait.

I drove to Busy Corner around 3 and picked up 8 slices of pie for our Monday Night Friends salad supper hosted by Ruth at our country farm in rural Chenoa.    She invited us to come and see her pretty flowers, too....

The car was finally done around 4 (3 hours) and so Mark and I exchanged vehicles in Lexington and he went back to Flo in Big Red and I drove to Ruth's.    There were 7 of us and Ruth started off by giving us a tour of her beautiful flowers (mainly Iris at this point).    She will be in a garden walk in late June when many more will be in full bloom.

We all enjoyed a delicious supper of hot chicken salad on croissants, fruit salad, watermelon/feta/cucumber salad, deviled eggs, chocolate-dipped strawberries and pie from Busy Corner.    We sat around the table in Ruth's machine shed (her event room) and yakked and yakked.    Then time to clean up and grab some of Jody's delicious mini carrot cakes to take with us.    What a treat!    I will not see these gals till September (God willing).    A really fun evening with these long-time friends.
