Memorial Day - 2022

 REMEMBER and HONOR

those who gave the ultimate sacrifice serving our country!

Alexa played some awesome patriotic music throughout the day - I work much better to music and love all these wonderful songs!

We had sausage/cheese omelets and then set to work.....Mark had his projects and I got final stuff put away with "a place for everything and everything in its place" on Catrina and Flo.

Today officially starts the summer season and it felt like it here in Port Clinton with blue skies, windy and warm sunshine reaching 88,

We went to Bassett's (Hardware and Grocery) - 1st stop was me driving thru Biggby Coffee for some icy treats.    Mark needed some stuff at the hardware and I had a few items to pick up.   We really like this locally owned grocery/hardware that has been in Port Clinton since 1898.    I only had a few things on my list, but $89 later we walked out the door (doesn't take much these days to really add up)!

On home, put groceries away and Mark finished up project on Catrina's bridge (replace valve on propane tank).

We walked to Dock's Beach House for dinner - it was packed as it always is....waited for 34 minutes for a table.    Visited with some nice folks from Vermilion.    And the owner stopped by to chat.    He owns this place plus several restaurants/bars on Put in Bay.   He said it's so hard to get help (waitresses and cooks).    Before the pandemic the cooks were getting $12 an hour/now it's close to $30.    BUT....no one wants to work!!!!

After our yummy dinner, we walked back to Catrina and a nice ending to this memorial day 2022.
