Sunday - May 29

Great kick-off to summertime fun with sunshine and reaching 82.     We stopped at Coffee Express but very busy with long line, so no coffee/pastries.....onto Ala Cart, an old-fashioned diner that was busy but able to get a booth.    They even had a gal outside with clipboard taking names.    Great hot breakfast and then ran a few errands and drove around Port Clinton seeing some of our favorites and what's new!

Mass at Immaculate Conception (our summer parish) with Father Jonathan is always a treat.    I recognized one of the lectors and chatted with Mr. Fox after Mass - we were waiting together and chatting while our lunches were being prepared Friday at Coffee Express.    Nice guy...and everyone who came into the coffee shop knew him by name "Hi Mr. Fox" - he's a school music teacher.

On home to dig in some more and little by little, we're settling back in on Catrina.

We walked to Waterworks Park for the big festival celebrating Port Clinton's "claim to fame" as the "Walleye Capital of the World".    Huge crowd on this lovely day with every imaginable food you could want + lots of craft vendors, music, carnival and perch/walleye sandwiches.   We thoroughly enjoyed our walleye + lemon shake-ups!    Doesn't get any better.    Walked around and sat on a bench overlooking the lake with many boats coming and going.

At Waterworks Park along Lake Erie
Jet Express ferry coming back from Put in Bay
Another pretty park downtown

Only 7 on Zoom tonight but good to see Janet and hear about her recovery from spinal surgery on Friday.   And we got an update on Tom's detached retina.    Both have a 6-8 week healing process.

Back to Catrina to enjoy the AC.   Sat on Catrina's bridge and had drinks (not many folks around) and then walked around the marina.
