Friday - May 6

I was LAZY this morning staying in bed with my tablet and phone (Mark brought me coffee) and just looking out the window at the dreary sky with the trees blowing and happy we didn't have to be anywhere for a bit!!!

But then, it was to time to take on the day and we were off to Champaign (actually Urbana) and lunch at The Courier Cafe with Butch and Joyce from Champaign.    What a neat place in an old bank building with the tin ceilings that date back to the 1800's.    It's been a restaurant since the 80's and it was very busy and very delicious!   Always so fun to be with Joyce and Butch and they love coffee shops as much as we do!!!   We met them in Okeechobee at Water's Edge several years ago.

After lunch we drove to YoYo's Coffee Shop in Mahomet.    Another winner with this very unique place that had lots of pastries, desserts, ice cream, etc., and very neat decor.   Would be fun to sit on the patio with huge rocks, an old rusty truck, swings, fire pit in a woodsy setting, but NOT today!!!     We sat and gabbed some more over our hot coffees on this cold, windy, drizzly day!     They are off this week to Madison and Butch's check-up from heart transplant 11 years ago.    What an inspiration he is!!!    Then to New Orleans and their granddaughter getting her Masters' degree.    We said our good byes and hope to meet again in September (they are ready for a Green Gables fix)!!!    We'll be good for that, too!😀

Butch and Joyce

And then it was back to Bloomington for Mark's 4:00 PT session with Donna.    It was so good to see my favorite therapist (she and Lee were BIG part of my shoulder recovery back in 2010 and then other times since)!    Mark had an electrical stimulation on his lower back today - felt good and has more exercises to do on Flo.

I was texting with Janet (Mark's sister) about her very painful back issues.    She's had therapy 2x this week and feeling worse than ever!    She's trying to finish out the school year in lots of pain (retiring in just a few weeks) but has to try therapy (Medicare requirement) before spinal surgery which is probably inevitable.

Liam and Connor will have a very busy Saturday trying to catch up with their lawns after all this rain!    And hopefully, next week, the farmers can do their thing!!!

We have had really nasty weather all week but tonight's is so awful with the winds really picking up (gusts at 31 mph) and rain coming down on Flo off and on!     UGH!     Bring on spring.....but sounds like we're going straight to summer with the 80's next week!    No complaints!!!     Bring it on...

Enjoy your weekend!
