Christmas Eve - 2020

Christmas Eve started out very cold with the wind chill below zero!!!     We did our exercises and then left around 9 as the cleaning ladies were here.    Went to Coffee Hound for pastries (cinnamon roll for Mark and a raspberry scone for me) and our coffees.    Drove around a bit till we could go back home.

The sun is shining brightly, but boy, it's bone numbing out there!    I made my sweet potato casserole for tomorrow and spent rest of the morning reading.

After lunch we went to HyVee to pick up our Christmas dinner.....oh my, an absolute zoo with traffic coming and going as both entrances were backed waaay up and traffic spilled out on Veterans Parkway.     Mark waited in line as 6 in front of him for dinner pick-up.     ARGHHHHH....can't believe how many people wait till Christmas Eve to do their grocery shopping!

Back home and played some virtual euchre - cards were not pretty today!!!

Went to Anne's at 4 and attended Christmas Eve Mass virtually from St. Pat's in Dixon with Anne, boys, and Auntie Karen.

Mass with Father Romke

Dinner was lasagna, salad, breadsticks, wine and a variety of "Nothing Bundt Cakes" for dessert.    Delicious.

Anne, Connor and Liam busy in the kitchen!

It is still so brutally cold out - 1 more day and then we'll start the warm-up!

From the Campbell's.....

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night
