Sunday - July 7

Fifteen years ago today, my Mom passed away (July 7, 2009) - so many vivid memories of my Dad calling with this sad news while we were in Alaska.  Miss you Mom!  LOVE YOU!!!

Mark is so thoughtful and said we could walk downtown to get a coffee before leaving Kingston.   The Coffee Co. opened at 7 and we got there around 7:15 - much appreciated!

And then we were on our way leaving  Kingston but now officially starting  the Thousand Islands coming from the west.    We cruised 35.5 miles today to Alexandria Bay, NY and what a pretty trip it was - so scenic, quaint and charming.

Settled in at the Carnegie Bay Marina, cleared customs with a video phone call and then set off for downtown with a stop at the Walnut Street Market (Pam here at the marina told us they have a great deli)  We walked the 1/2 mile and shared a roast beef/ham sub - excellent.   Then meandered on to town (locals call it A Bay or Alex Bay and just a population of 954 year-round residents with many more in the summertime.  Lots of memories from being here several other times - cute shops (many touristy).   We walked the long 1 block area and then back to the boat.    It is 80 and a beautiful Sunday!

Pretty harbor villas with boat garage underneath here at Carnegie Bay

Rested a bit to cool off and then got to work getting stuff organized, clean, etc. before Paul and Kathy arrive on Tuesday.   Keeping a close eye on Beryl and hope 'n pray that this hurricane won't affect their travels coming from Texas.

Mark rode his bike downtown to mail some cards and picked up a few things at Family Dollar.

Did a load of laundry tonight - we are the only boaters staying here - most are locals and there's also a few folks in their RV's.

Congratulations to our friends Ron and Lois who welcomed their first great granddaughter today - Ava Marie.

Zoom tonight - mostly talked about health issues!   And today is our brother-in-law, Mike's (hubby of Mark's sister Theresa) 80th birthday!
