Canada Day - 2024

Today marks the 157th anniversary of Canadian Confederation and a celebratory all-day event much like the USA celebrates our Independence Day on July 4th.

Since arriving in Canada on June 12th,, we've been proudly flying the Canadian Maple Leaf.

Nice to wake up to clear sunny skies and much less wind.   After breakfast, Mark went for a walk, I exercised and tidied up Catrina a bit.   We walked with Robin and Louise to the Concrete Coffee Co. for iced coffees and some pastries all made in house.    We sat and gabbed for a few hours,    We've sure enjoyed being here in Whitby with them!

Back to our boats with good bye hugs!    And once again... I hate to say good bye!😢   We had a quiet afternoon on Catrina.

After 6 days in Whitby, tomorrow we are moving on.   This has been a great place to hang out when other marinas couldn't take us cause of our width or already full for the holiday weekend.   We've so enjoyed being with Robin and Louise, the awesome bike/walking trails, close to the grocery store, restaurants, coffee shop, etc.

Forgot this yesterday - Mark pulling our groceries back to Catrina (I helped, too, with my
"good" hand/arm/shoulder!)  😃

We walked over to Victoria Fields to check out the festivities - lots of food vendors and other booths selling maple syrup, and various trinkets, but mostly food items.    A young girl asked to take our picture.
Nice memory from Canada Day

We walked the trail to the Pump House for pizza (food truck) and adult beverages outside in a former pump house which is now open air with picnic tables.   It was so pleasant sitting in the sunshine + a good supper!

Fireworks started at 10:10 and finished at 10:28 - excellent!!!!    We were right smack dab in front of this terrific colorful, exciting show!
